Daughters, We Need Your Advice!

The Distant Dad Project (TM) works to provide hope and inspiration to men that want a more connected relationship with their daughters.

We are collecting letters of advice from women that grew up without an active and involved father in their life. These letters are to dads that are good men who are concerned they may be losing the connection with their daughter due to divorce, separation, military service, business travel, incarceration, or similar circumstances. These men know they need to be in their child’s life, but lack the knowledge of the best ways to do so.

FAQ’s:

  • The letters are posted anonymously by default, but we like to indicate the state and/or your initials if you say so;

  • Biographical information provides wonderful context for the positive advice;

  • Our intention is to edit the submissions as little as possible to retain the author’s original voice.

As you can see, The Distant Dad Project (TM) is currently a blog that receives several hundred visitors every day. Interest from two production companies may result in a documentary film and/or a reality serial show, and there are current discussions with publishers for a book project. We would love to include you and your advice in the journey.

Please feel free to explore these pages for a better understanding of the perspective we offer. When ready, just email your letter (or questions) to distantdadproject@gmail.com

Kind regards,
